2020 UMCVB Fall Conference
The 23rd Annual Upper Midwest Convention and Visitors Bureaus Fall Conference, scheduled for September 13-16, 2020, has been cancelled. After very careful consideration, we have decided to cancel this year’s UMCVB Fall Conference which was originally scheduled to take place this September in Des Moines. We considered going ahead with the conference, however after numerous conversations with many of you, our potential attendees, it became clear that most would not be able to attend the conference this year due to travel or budget restrictions. We know how important it is to focus on recovery and the marketing of your destination at this time; and we want to be sensitive to the impact COVID-19 has had on our industry. We want to thank Catch Des Moines and Hilton Des Moines Downtown for being wonderful partners and working with us to reschedule the conference in Des Moines for 2021!
Attendees for this unique conference come from Convention and Visitors Bureaus, Chambers of Commerce and Tourism Departments from an eight-state region that includes Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. Surrounding states in the Midwest are always welcome to attend as well. You’ll learn new skills and industry trends through dynamic educational sessions. You’ll also enjoy abundant networking opportunities with your colleagues throughout the Upper Midwest.
Conference App This year we are excited to have a conference app to help us connect with each other. We will still be using the Whova app this year to help you connect and we will be offering some digital education opportunities for our members. Download the Whova App to connect with other UMCVB attendees and stay up to date on conference announcements. Watch for email announcements and keep an eye on this website for updates on the digital education UMCVB will be offering.
2020 UMCVB Virtual Conference The UMCVB Board is working diligently on coming up with a plan for some digital education opportunities for our members. Even though we cannot be together this September, we still want to offer educational and networking opportunities this fall. Stay tuned for those announcements!
